Passing the CCAF Exam
This article is manually created by me, without AI assistance :). I passed the CCAF exam on 14th of September, 2026 with score (857/1000). I write down the points that are useful for you if you are preparing for it in the future.
How I Prepared
I spent about 15 days (2-3h per day) to prepare for it.
- study all materials mentioned on this popular github repo, including the docs, Anthropic video courses, and question sets.
- use claude code using this github repo I built to repeat weak knowledge points. It builds both questions and labs.
- practice more questions as drills. I used skillcertpro paid materials. You do NOT have to use the same and it’s not real exam questions either. It’s useful to solidify the knowledge.
- the mock exams in claude certi guide. It’s free as of today, and the GUI and questions are really nice. Highly recommend.
- when your answer is different from the given answer in doing drills, send the questions to claude (sonnet5 in incognito mode) to verify. Some questions have wrong answers, and you should know why.
- do one full set mock one day before the exam and 30mins warm-up before the exam time.
- take the exam!
What Surprised Me
The reading of the exam is really heavy. I have used 1h 31min to complete all 60 questions. There are several times in the exam I needed to shake up as my brain was tiring on continuous reading and process the nuance. Be prepared for this long battle.
Many questions at the beginning are multi-agent topic, which tend to have long text. So don’t be scared by them, the questions later could be shorter (only my experience).
You should join the exam 30min ahead to prepare, and you should do the computer test at least one day earlier. It needs to be Windows or MacOS, with webcam, mic, and speaker. Linux is not supported.
In addition, you need to have your mobile at hand as it will ask you to use mobile to take selfie, pics of ID and your exam surrounding environment.
